Online charges $10-$30.00 one time. By phone, different reps charge differing amounts, sometimes able to waive the activation fees. 800 and Vanity numbers are offered only on larger monthly minute plans.
Vanity orders cannot be made online but by phone only. No pay by minute options are offered, only minute packages ranging from $9.95 (300 minutes), $19.95 (500 minutes), and $29.95 (1000 minutes).
Occasionally six month packages are offered at $12.95/month. Sales is difficult to work with as they give differing information from the website and have a quota to reach. Area coverage is nationwide and the toll free number can ring to any phone number.

There is no contract length but you do not own the toll free number. You may be able port a number in certain cases if you’ve kept an account paid in full for four months.
Their terms and conditions specifically state that you do not own the toll free number or any other services provided but the phone reps say different.

They provide a variety of outsourced virtual phone, fax and email services for businesses and individuals on a global scale. They boast over 11 million subscribers, and are well known for their eReceptionist feature, which enables businesses of all sizes to communicate professionally and effectively regardless of their budget or staffing.
The Onebox Virtual Office service offered by eVoice does not require any contract or start up fees. However, as is with many other toll free service providers, the phone numbers that eVoice provides are not owned by the customer, and Onebox charges a fee to port in or out any toll free number with their service. eVoice, via Onebox also provides online fax services, voicemail to email, and audio/web conferencing services.

CONS: Pushy sales staff. Phone and website information differ vastly. Feels like reps will say anything to get a new account. No toll free ownership. Service touted as month to month but refunds are difficult to obtain.
