What Are You Doing With Your Money?

Are you one of those people that constantly checks their bank account to see if you have enough money for gas, groceries, clothes, etc? You may not, in that case, be surprised to hear that MOST Americans live paycheck to paycheck. You are not alone and sometimes it can seem like it’s a never ending cycle of poverty. You likely can’t take the chance at reaching for your dreams because, if anything goes wrong, you won’t be able to make rent…
I myself was once living this life for years. I even had a college degree and worked full time. The rent was too high, my commute was too long, my groceries were too much, and don’t even get me started on my healthcare or student and car loans. I felt destitute and started reading motivational quotes to get me going in the morning and make me happy. The fact was that I wasn’t happy and no amount of “Life’s what you make it!” quotes, beautifully written over someone’s lovely photo of a sunrise was going to change that. Every day I told myself to start a business, start writing, get a hobby. To get off my butt and do *something* to get my head back in the game and start enjoying life and, maybe have a little extra money to take a vacation every now and again.
Then, something changed. And this wasn’t an immediate, life changing, movie moment or anything… I got laid off. I was devastated because I knew that my last paycheck had to last. I mean really last. I got unemployment for awhile and even food stamps. I couldn’t find another job, no one had openings. Then, the life changing moment happened… A friend mentioned his Dad was looking for someone to help him learn how to use the internet better. I said I would (I didn’t have anything better to do, right?) and I did for a few weeks. He ended up giving me a check for $100. I tried to refuse but he persisted, “If I took a community college class I’d have paid more and had to go somewhere – you’re worth it!”
There it was. The defining moment: YOU’RE WORTH IT. So, I figured out how to build an easy website and started selling my ebook regarding different technical aspects of life that I was good at in simple manuals that I sold for $9.99 each and offered tech support for $9.99 each month for those people that needed to talk to someone (the older generation). That was two years ago and now I have a full fledged business! Sure, I’m not making tons of cash and I never expected to. I wanted to make a living as I said before, and now I am. Sometimes I do guest blogging on the side (as you can see here) and that’s what I’m writing about today. And I’m hoping that this is the push you need to do what YOU need to do in life because YOU ARE WORTH IT! You deserve to get paid a living wage. You deserve a vacation. You deserve to build your own dreams and TollFreeNumber.ORG invites you to review their blogs and information to help you get started on your own dreams and not to be afraid. While change can be scary, it doesn’t have to be if you have the right resources in place. Cheers to your dreams!
