Forever 21 started as “Fashion 21” in the early eighties in a small storefront with one location in Los Angeles, CA. Its first year of business proved to do exceptionally well and the owner, Don Chang, continually expanded, opening several new locations each year. In less than two decades, Forever 21 would be one of the nations largest clothing stores for young women (and eventually expanding in to men’s fashions).

Forever 21 has a massive following with women and men of all ages looking to be fashionable without the added expense of brand names. Forever 21 is famous for following fashion trends and bringing those trends to their clients without that “mass produced” feeling. They carry different brands depending on their need, but showcase the Forever 21 branding throughout all locations.

I’m so happy their stores are getting bigger and have so much more, even guys clothes so I can have an excuse to go (for my boyfriend’s clothes)!

They just built a new store near me and it’s HUGE! I literally get tired of walking around it and have to take a Starbucks break in the middle of my shopping excursion, haha!

It’s a really good company, I work there. I worked at Harris’ for the longest time and when they were leaning toward going out of business or merging or whatever they did, I thought I’d be out of a job. In fact, I was positive I’d be out of a job. I’m a middle aged woman for God’s sake! I was sticking it out until the very end, though. But who decided to take over the location? Forever 21. And you know what they did? They interviewed every Harris’ employee that wanted to continue working retail at that location. I thought it was a farce at first, like, let’s pretend we want to keep you on staff, haha sort of deal but they ended up hiring most of us and then hiring from the outside! They were quite honest about hiring me as an older/more mature woman and coached me on how to dress to work there. It was really quite fascinating to learn something so new after so long of the same ol’ same ol’. My kids think I’m much cooler and my daughter asks to borrow some of my clothes now!
