5 Signs You’re Working Too Much

Any one that’s successful will undoubtedly say that they had to work hard to get where they’re at. Many will also say that they like what they do and don’t tend to think of it as work so they just constantly do it, with few vacations. Most of the businesses started in the US are by people who have learned a skill from a previous job and have decided to go out on their own – maybe you’re one of them! But, just because you’re experienced at and good at a job, doesn’t mean it’s your cup of tea. Here are 5 way to recognize that you’re working too hard at a job you don’t really like that much:
- You aren’t excited to go to work. You wake up in the morning and begin your routine but you simply don’t have the pep in your step. Sure, you aren’t anxious or anything but there’s not much to look forward to; you know today is going to be the same any other.
- You get to work and can’t wait to leave. If you know the feeling of watching the clock all day and constantly say to yourself, “This day is taking forever” you may not be happy in your job.
- When you do get off work, you usually just go home and veg. And it’s because you know you just have to go back the next day. The weekend is really what you’re waiting for so you can have a few sweet sweet days of from the grind.
- You’re always thinking of other ways to make money. One day you’re thinking you can be a mechanic, the next day you’re thinking you should go back to school to pursue your long time dream of being a chef. But, the thing is… You don’t really look in to any of it because you’re bored and tired all the time.
- When you meet new people and they ask what you do you tend to make something up (if you’re not likely to see them again) or answer quickly and change the subject. Please who love their job also love talking about their job. When you don’t love your job, you’re doing everything you can to stop thinking about it.
What you need to remember is that it’s NEVER too late to find something that suits you better. It’s not always about money or time; it’s about doing something that you actually like so that money and time aren’t issues because you’re too busy being happy! Branching off and starting something on your own can be scary but we’re here to help!
