Making Executive Decisions

One of the most common types of caller we get is from window-shoppers who have a hard time making up their mind. These are the people that go one of two ways: either they give up on getting a toll free number altogether or they do tons of research and then throw all of that work away and simply pick the company that pushes extra hard to make the sale, completely disregarding all of the other information they’ve gathered. This latter group are also the same people that end up calling us back a month or two down the road looking to transfer their toll free number. The problem is they often can’t transfer their number because they’ve already locked themselves into a year-long contract. The issue here is indecisiveness. In our experience these people often know what they want but are dissuaded by business associates or spouses who’ve done zero research and have absolutely no experience whatsoever with toll free service. That’s why we’ve written this blog to help you step up to the plate and hit home runs every time by simply asserting yourself and trusting your judgment.

What can we learn from this story? First of all, trust your own judgment. We’re not saying that business-owners shouldn’t take the advice of spouses or family members, merely that the advice be taken with a grain of salt when it is uninformed. We understand the concern people having for saving money and getting the best deal possible but often the upfront cost is the least of your worries. When researching toll free service always remember to look into the costs of ownership versus renting as well as contract-based service versus month-to-month service. You’ll often find that you have to pay a little more up front for ownership but you’ll save hundreds (if not thousands) in monthly fees annually by simply paying a one-time cost to own the toll free. Jim knew this but he allowed himself to be seeded with doubt and ended up paying more in the end. But it’s not just Jim, these kind of stories happen almost every day. Don’t let it happen to you. Do your research. Compare long term vs small term benefits. Decide what works best and stand firm. As a business-owner it is your job to make the executive decisions.
