How To Treat Your Employees

Here at TollFreeNumber.ORG, we have a special place in our heart for family. Americans are known for working a lot, being stressed, and taking few vacations. Our solution is to offer employees extra personal time for a multitude of reasons and the feedback we have gotten is incredibly positive. Our competitors push toward as many sales as possible, long hours, and constant pushing of their employees to push their potential customers.
We don’t care for this approach and here’s why:
1. Pushing your employees puts extra stress on them. When people are stressed out they are likely to be more tired throughout the day, ultimately take more sick leave, and end up leaving the job. As we all know, it takes a lot of time and effort to train an employee so retention is very important.
2. Working long hours and weekends has employees spending more time away from their friends and family. They may start to neglect their responsibilities and develop a ‘what the heck’ attitude, where they can fall in to a depressive state or indulge in activities that are out of character for them.
3. Telemarketing has a high turnaround and, while not all toll free companies use the cold call strategy, the ‘get more sales or you’re fired’ approach is pretty harsh. Employees may feel uneasy or nervous about coming in to work if the boss is standing over their shoulder, micro managing.
So, how can we remedy this? www.TollFreeNumber.ORG has perfected their approach to keeping employees happy. Here’s what we do:
1. Offer incentive to employees that volunteer to work on off days. For instance, we schedule events on weekends and allow our employees to volunteer to work that day. In the summer we have beach days with nice cabanas set up, a BBQ, allow them to bring their family and provide transportation from the office. All they do in return is spend some fun in the sun talking to people about our service!
2. We are like family so we allow personal time off without question. You need to go to a graduation, wedding, your kids play at school? No problem! You’re in a bad mood today and feel like you wouldn’t do your best work? That’s okay with us! We want everyone to feel happy, refreshed, and ready to have a great day when they’re at the office!
3. Talking to employees like the good people they are. If someone doesn’t do something correctly or, maybe could have done it better, no one acts superior and no one threatens to write someone up for it or anything like that. We want to make sure we’re treating our people right! We believe in everyone we hire and aren’t afraid to say they made a mistake but also don’t demand that they never make a mistake.
