Do You Have a Thankless Job?

It’s always a good time to reflect on what we’re thankful for. Many will point to their family and friends and health as something to always be thankful for. Having a roof over one’s head and enough food and water is another one that’s high on the list. Being successful is also high on the list of things people are thankful for but, what does that include? Having a “good” job? Making a lot of money?
Does having a “good” job matter if the people we work for don’t care to thank us? Some experts say no and that simply knowing we are doing the best we can and achieving what we need to achieve is enough. Are business owners always thanked for making a great product or offering a great service? Sometimes but not always.
There’s one big thing that experts agree on in regards to having a job: Focus on what you accomplish; not on what others think about what you accomplish. Yep, even if it’s your boss! If you like what you do the pats on the back will be in the form of your own sense of accomplishment. No certificate or award or handshake can take the place of what you think of yourself. And if you work at a thankless job that you don’t like and never get praise for… Maybe you shouldn’t be at that job. It all depends on you and what lights your fire!
Many people get accustomed to the job they do so well that it ends up getting boring and the praise stops coming because, well, you can’t get praised all the time, right? This can happen to the extent of making your own improvements or suggested improvements in what you do. When the boss wants to stick to the old school way, this is actually when a lot of people start thinking about branching off in to their own line of work. It can be a critical point in your life where you get so good at what you do that the last thing you need is praise – what you need is your own business! And of course you’ll need a toll free number when you do start your own business! Get one today!
