Tollfreenumber.ORG has announced the launch of the 844 area code, the newest series of toll free telephone numbers approved for release by the FCC in 2014.
Logan Marshall, founder of TollfreeNumber.ORG said “we are making waves through local communities nationwide as the announcement of the release of the 844 area code is made by TollfreeNumber.ORG for the first time.”
TollfreeNumber.ORG used it’s websites http://www.844-numbers.com and http://www.844number.com to announce that a new area code is hitting the USA market. Logan Marshall wrote on the website “On November 14, 2012, SMS/800, Inc., the company that oversees the 800 Service Management System for the North American Numbering Plan, recommended that the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) open the 844 toll free code on February 15, 2014”
And just like that, a new area code is approved for release. Logan Marshall initially announced the news in 2010 via the Toll-free advisory committee at SMSGOV.com that he was a part to. At the time, Bill Quimby founder of tollfreenumbers.com had confronted Marshall by claiming that the 844 was not to be released for a decade.
The 844 numbers work exactly like an 800 number–the call is free for the caller. The 844 numbers can be used locally for personal and business use or can be used nationally to capture a wider range of customers. Business owners in any community can order and use the 844 toll free phone numbers (for a very small financial investment) through large phone companies like AT&T or through small boutique toll free service providers like Tollfreenumber.ORG.
Local businesses that sign up for avanity 844-phone number can create an instant connection with potential customers and clients. For decades, small companies have been using toll free phone numbers to help increase their business and customer relations.
NEWS FROM THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
On November 14, 2012, SMS/800, Inc., the company that oversees the 800 Service Management System for the North American Numbering Plan, recommended that the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) open the 844 toll free code on February 15, 2014.1 When the Commission opens the 844 code for the first time, subscribers will have access to essentially all the toll free numbers within the 844 Numbering Plan Area, including vanity numbers within the 844 code. We note that Commission rules prohibit warehousing, hoarding, and brokering of toll free numbers.2 In addition, Commission rules provide that a toll free number may only be reserved at the request of a legitimate end user customer and may not be reserved with the intent of selling said number for a fee.3 Nonetheless, we seek comment on adopting a distribution method that would enhance access to 844 toll free numbers on an equitable basis
